Terms of Service

Last updated: May 8, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Vocabcord iOS application ("the app"). By installing or using Vocabcord, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

1. What Vocabcord does

Vocabcord is a vocabulary-learning utility for iPhone. When your charger is connected, an iOS Shortcuts personal automation triggers Vocabcord to play one CEFR-graded vocabulary phrase from the pack and language pair you've selected. The app ships with a curated library of phrases and recordings; selection of which phrase plays next is driven by an on-device spaced-repetition algorithm.

2. License to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Vocabcord on iPhones you own or control, subject to Apple's standard App Store Terms of Service. You may not:

3. Content license

The phrases, translations, and audio recordings bundled with Vocabcord are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use within the app only. You may not:

4. In-app purchases

Vocabcord offers paid unlocks via Apple's StoreKit framework:

All purchases are processed by Apple. Payments, refunds, billing questions, and subscription management are handled by Apple. To manage or cancel your subscription, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Canceling stops future renewals; it does not refund past charges.

Subscription prices may vary by region and are shown in the App Store at the time of purchase. The free trial converts to a paid subscription unless canceled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

5. Refunds

Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides refund eligibility at its sole discretion. Vocabcord does not process refunds independently because we never receive your payment information.

6. No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that the app will be error-free, that phrases will play in every edge case, or that iOS Shortcuts personal automations will fire reliably on every iPhone in every scenario. iOS updates, background behavior, silent mode, Focus modes, low-power mode, and hardware variations can all affect playback.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vocabcord and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the app. Our total liability, if any, will not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Acceptable use

Don't use the app in ways that would be illegal or harmful to others. You're responsible for how you use the app and the content it plays.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the app's publisher is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to your use of the app will be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence provide otherwise.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the new terms. If you don't accept them, uninstall the app.
